About: The Inside Out Festival

The Inside Out Festival 2013 will be taking place on the week of the 21st October 2013, in association with Times Higher Education.

The Inside Out Festival is curated and produced by TCCE (The Culture Capital Exchange) and sets out to showcase for the 4th time the fascinating contribution made by our London universities to the capital’s cultural life. A huge number of events will take place on both university campuses and leading London venues throughout the week.  The wider public  is encouraged to participate in a wide range of activities from the performing and visual arts through to literature, design, fashion as well as the sciences and social sciences.

Inside Out Festival was established in 2009 by LCACE (now The Culture Capital Exchange) to showcase the fascinating contribution that our members make to London’s cultural life.

Since then we have curated, produced and supported over 150 events in the festival’s first three years, working with partner venues including Somerset House, Tate, NPG, RSA, Calvert 22, The British Academy, ICA and Museum of Brands.

The 2013 programme will include an eclectic mix of debates, performance, workshops, screenings, walks and concerts (many of them free) held within our universities and with cultural partners such as Somerset House, The British Academy, The National Portrait Gallery and Museum of Brands. There will also be a strand of events within the Festival on the theme of ‘Failure’, these are highlighted using black stars on the website.

We work with many cultural organisations to make Inside Out happen and are always interested in talking with new potential organisations who are interested in hosting interesting research-led activities that you might not otherwise programme.
