People attending the walk to meet under ‘The Cally’ bridge beside the entrance to Caledonian Road & Barnsbury Station, London N1 1DF. This is also the end destination of the walk.
This summer Creativeworks London funded Team Cally and AIR at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, to pair seven artists with people who live and work in the Cally: a postman, a retired solicitor, an unemployed young woman, a playworker, a group of female pensioners, a caretaker, and a café owner.
The artists and their pairs walked and talked the Cally and considered how a place is defined by the lives lived there. Artworks responding to these conversations were exhibited in a disused shop as part of the Cally Festival in September and the project partners are now reflecting on the process. Mohamed Hammoudan from Team Cally and Anna Hart from AIR will lead a walking discussion for Inside Out Festival about local knowledge and creative collaboration.
