The Story Collider

Science surrounds us. Even when we don’t notice it, science touches almost every part of our lives. At the Story Collider, we believe that everyone has a story about how science made a difference, affected them, or changed them on a personal level.

At this live performance, you’ll hear six true, personal science stories from scientists and non-scientists alike, and see just how interesting science can be.

Brian Wecht
This event will be hosted by Brian Wecht, a Lecturer in Theoretical Physics at Queen Mary, University of London. Originally from New Jersey, Brian obtained an undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Music from Williams College before going on to get his Ph.D. in Physics from UC San Diego, focusing in particular on string theory and theoretical particle physics. Since leaving San Diego, Brian has held research positions at Harvard, MIT, the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, and the University of Michigan. Brian is also one of the founders of the Story Collider, which he co-created with Ben Lillie, when they each realized they were not the only theoretical particle physicist doing storytelling in New York.
