Kate Ryder, a pianist renowned for pushing the boundaries of her instrument, performs recent music which explores the sound world of the piano in new and exciting ways.
Includes music by Patricia Alessandrini, Cindy Cox, John Cage, Tim Ewers, Katharine Norman, Oded ben Tal, Mike Searby and others.
Also featuring a cross section of new music commissioned by Kate for piano and “pnoscan”, a midi device capable of creating unusual sounds and effects within the instrument. The result is an extraordinary new sound world which creates a fascinating aural experience for audiences and performer alike.

Kate Ryder
Kate Ryder’s wide ranging experience encompasses solo work and collaborations with leading performers and ensembles in dance, electronics and theatre where she has established herself as a versatile and original performer. She has had many works created especially for her by composers in the UK and abroad. She has a particular specialism in working with extended techniques and unusual keyboard instruments – toy pianos, antique keyboards and prepared piano. She is currently Creative works Entrepreneur at Kingston University where she is researching augmented keyboard instruments and the “Super-piano”
